Christmas Day wildlife

It’s hardly a secret that I like taking photos of animals. My parents have been carefully feeding the garden birds for several years now, and that makes my life easy. Standing at the back door I managed to take quite a collection of pictures. There are captions for those who need their memories jogged, or who don’t know their great tits from their blue-footed boobies…

Has anyone seen the Doctor?

There’s a temporal disturbance in Loddon churchyard! Careful observation with my new lens clearly shows that someone has been messing with time and space.

Downing Oldies Dinner

Right, that’s it. I’m starting my eighth year at Downing now and even the MCR freshers are starting to look like schoolkids. To celebrate this we had a wine-drinking, ham-eating, grumpy-old-men dinner at Erika’s house, accompanied by some really good chicken and chorizo casserole. Photos are all with the 50mm f/1.8 lens, no time to edit but they look pretty good straight out of the camera.

Swiss Panoramae

Belatedly, as ever, here are some panoramas from Switzerland. Despite the best efforts of the Swiss government to force the exchange rates towards something vaguely normal, things remained ridiculously expensive all week. Luckily our apartment had a cooker so we made tonnes of pasta to avoid the restaurants, and drank the French wine I had brought along from the week before, but the Schweizerische Bundesbahnen now have a lot of my money.
